THE SERBIAN HERITAGE ACADEMY OF CANADA in cooperation with the
CONSULATE GENERAL OF REPUBLIC OF SERBIA invites you
We would like to invite you to commemorate the victims of the Exodus of Serbs from the Republic of Serbian Krajina as well as to honor the sacrifice of the members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
During the military operation called by its political and military general stuff “Oluja-Storm” Croatia, expelled 250,000 of citizens only because of being of Serb origin, from which around 14,000 people were reported killed, including a substantial number of old people, women, and children. 20,000 homes were deliberately set on fire.
Most of the people who were forced to leave their homes found shelter in the Republic of Serbia. Many of those later came to Canada, where they were finally given a chance to live freely and to prosper with their families.
Many remaining in Serbia still live the life of the war refugees.
Canadian men and women in uniform by honoring their task within the UN peacekeeping mission stood firmly by trying to prevent the Exodus and to protect the civilians. They did it with conviction and commitment of true Canadians.
